Our craftsmanship process: from brief to bespoke furniture
At Studio Sams we work with both private and commercial clients across the UK to design and build bespoke handmade furniture that enhances any space - functional, beautiful and truly personal.
Whether you're looking for a custom family dining table to gather around for years to come, or a bold statement piece that commands attention, the process always begins with a conversation.
You don’t need to know exactly what it is you're after. We can talk through each aspect of your project - dimensions, function, space, materials and budget - and agree a brief (think of this as our launchpad) to work from.
We’ll then come back with sketches and a mood board, maybe a model or two, helping shape the vision together.
After the design is approved, we begin sourcing the finest natural materials, carefully selecting each timber to suit the piece and its purpose. Then, using time-honoured woodworking techniques, we craft your furniture by hand in our East Lothian workshop.
