Changing Direction
This piece marks both a creative milestone and a personal one. Named Changing Direction, it reflects the transition from my former life as an Advertising Creative to becoming a full-time fine furniture maker.
Crafted from rich American walnut and Scottish ash, the piece features two hand-fitted, push-to-open drawers and a striking chevron pattern across the front. As you move around the piece, the pattern appears to change as the light catches the alternating, hand-cut veneers. It’s a quiet nod to the idea that growth often comes through redirection.
The contrast between the dark walnut and the pale ash brings balance and clarity. Materials in conversation, each enhancing the other.
Changing Direction is the beginning of a new chapter. One made with care, intention, and a commitment to craft.
